Show Clear Track Given 18 to 45 Manpower Bill. TO BE QUICK WORK Final Vote Expected Tonight To-night or Not Later Than Tuesday, WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 A clear track was given in the senate today to the man -power bill, passed Saturday by house, broadening the army draft age limits to IS and -i5 years. When the senate convened under a long standing agreement to take up wartime prohibition, Senator Sheppard of Texas, prohibition advocate, moved to lay temporarily asido the measure. It was suggested and agreed to debate on the man-power bill with passage late today or tomorrow expected. Wilh a View to expediting passage of the manpower bill with its provision for extension of the draft age limits to 18 and 45 years, the senato today took up the measure as it passed the house Saturday. The house draft of tho bill was to bo reported by the senate military mili-tary committee today with the "work or fight" and other minor amendments previously agreed upon by the senate Incorporated. Substitution of the house bill for the senate draft was expected to insure quick enactment of the measure. mea-sure. Vigorous contests were expected in the senate today, centering about the "work or "fight" amendment.
