Show 'NAVAL SEAPLANES JN A JEISION Machine With Three of Crew and Ensign Pero Sunk Off Fire Island. WASHINGTON, Aug. 26. Loss of a I naval seaplane with her crew of three, including Ensign Donald C. Pero. in collision with another seaplane off Fire Island Tuesday, was announced today by the navy department. Pcro's machine is believed to have sunk immediately after having fallen into tho water. Mine sweepers searched the vicinity but could discover no trace either ol the crew nor of the machine. Ensign H Stevens, piloting the other plane, landed safely on the water with his mechanic and assistant and aided in the unsuccessful search. The accident occurred about 7 o'clock in the evening.
