Show ION THIS CHRISTMAS -Never was there more meaning to the injunction, "Peace on earth, good will to man." This is the first peace Christmas in four years, and to the greater part oC civilization it is a day made joyful because be-cause of the lifting of the awful pall of war which had threatened to obliterate ob-literate the best in life. I Here in Ogden we are celebrating the end of .the war and the gradual dls-' dls-' appearance of the scourge of influenza. Of the two afflictions, the epidemic was most terrible in its toll of life. When the last influenza case is recorded record-ed and that may come when peace is actually declared there will be further fur-ther cause for rejoicing. A year ago, we -were looking for-ward for-ward to a continuation of the war with all its horrors, and none could see the end. This Christmas the dark days are in the past; the future is filled Tvith promises of good cheer. Hope is firmly reawakened. When the choirs sing their anthems on this great festival of Christianity, praise and gladness will find a re- sponse in the hearts of all humanity. y |
