Show CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SUIT IS BROUGHT NEW YORK, Dec. IS. What is said to be the first suit ever brought by a Christian Science practitioner for the recovery of money alleged to be due for services rendered was filed here yesterday against Clarence C. Burger, a banker and promoter, by Miss Grace M. Trankla. Miss Trankla asks ?1?,150 for "services and instruction" alleged to hae been given between April 1 and October 1, this year. In her complaint Miss Trankla alleged al-leged that Burger sought her assistance assis-tance and, instruction in Christian; Science to "lead him to a deeper un- derstanding of its principles so that he , might not only be healed but in order that his greater business success in life might be promoted by like aid." , Burger was engaged in a 'large min-ing min-ing deal, the complaint says, and , promised Miss Trankla if "she devoted extra time and attention to him, exerting exert-ing in his behalf the power of Christian Chris-tian Science" he would pay her $10,-000 $10,-000 extra. Miss Trankla avers she complied with her part of the agreement "giving him both absent and present treatment." treat-ment." Although she believes the mining min-ing deal was a success, the plaintiff says the defendant failed to fulfill his agreement. |
