Show EXAMINATION FOR ANNAPOLIS SOONI SALT LAKE. Dec IS. Dr. E. G. Gowans, state superintendent of pub-! lie Instruction, directs the attention of 1 high school superintendents to the' fact that upon the request of Senator Sen-ator Reed Smooth a competitive examination ex-amination will be held in his office at the capitol on December 22 for the purpose of nominating candidates for the naval academy examination, which will be held either February 10 or March 16, 1918. Two principals and six alternates are to be selected and candidates between be-tween the ages of 16 and 20 years are eligible for appointment. High school graduates will be given preference, Dr. Gowans says. The United States naval station, 116 Keith Emporium building, will give a preliminary and unofficial physical examination to all applicants for admission to the academy acad-emy on presentation of a letter from Senator Reed Smoot. |
