Show TWO HUNDRED ATTEND NIGHT i SCHOOL ON OPENING DAY AND OTHERS EXPECTED TO ENROLL The opening enrollment In the night school offered by the board of education educa-tion is a surprise and a great inspiration inspira-tion to the members of the teaching force that take part in the work. About 200 people reported at 7 o'clock last nighL Approximately twelve were foreigners who wanted to learn English and become familiar with American institutions. About seventy-five wanted business courses In different lines. Quite a number num-ber wanted domestic science and domestic do-mestic art, A goodly number were boys and girls who are working and who wish to continue their education In this way. A large number also enrolled en-rolled for vocational subjects, such as mechanical drawing, architectural drawing 'and electrical work. It Is felt thore are twice this number num-ber in Ogden who should bo taking work in the night school. Tho facilities at the High school as well as tho teaching force, aro able to handle a 'large number. The regular nights are Monday, Wednesdny and Friday. Those wishing to attend should enroll Wednesday evening, October 2nd, at 7 o'clock, so as to get started in tho work with the regular classes. J. A. Junk received tho appointment of principal of the school. A class was formed for the benefit of foreign born residents desirous of taking up the study of English, American Ameri-can history and civics. |
