Show MEN WILL BE TAKEN BACK BY LOCAL COMPANY General Manager William II. Whitney Whit-ney of the Ogden, Logan &. Idaho railway rail-way today said, in reply to an Inquiry, that his company would be pleased to assure any of its employes Avho enlist in tho army or navy that their jobs will be waiting for them when they return. Several of the road's employes are in the volunteer national guard and two of them are captains. The railroads have not yet decided whether the pay of employes enlisting enlist-ing will bo continued, as was previously previous-ly done by tho Southern Pacific and Oregon Short Line. Officials of the Southern Pacific state that all such employes will retain re-tain both their Jobs and seniority rights and that probably the pay will be continued on a reasonable basis, this being 100 miles por day for train service employes, which approximates full wages. Traffic continues heavy on all railroad rail-road lines. All strategic points, such as tunnels, bridges, snowsheds, etc . of all the railroads arc now under military guard. |
