Show MILITARISM m SOONJILAPSE Prominent Japanese Predicts Early Fall of Prussian Dynasty at Meeting. SHOULD SUE FOR PEACE Sheer Madness for Germany to Arouse Sleeping Giant of Western Hemisphere. PHILADELPHIA, April 21. The early collapse of German militarism was predicted today at tho annual meeting of the American Academy of Political and Social Science by Toyo-kichi Toyo-kichi Iyenaga, of Now York, managing manag-ing director of tho East and West News Bureau. "It was sheer madness," he said, "for Germany to arouse the sleeping giant of this hemisphere. There Is no doubt now as to which side of tho belligerents bel-ligerents will be final victor. Tho only question that arises Is how long will be the time before Germany collapses. Should Sue for Peace. "I make bold to say that it would be to the great advantage of Germany to sue for peace today. If she could now lay her cards upon the table and ask for lenient terms of settlement, her enemies probably would not bo loath to grant them. In this respect the Influence In-fluence of America would doubtless be strongly exerted in Germany's favor. Were Germany so to act, I could understand un-derstand for the first time why she dragged the United States into this war." The problems of a durable peace between be-tween America and Japan, Mr. Iyena-ag Iyena-ag said, will not have received their definite and final solution until Japanese Japa-nese residing In this country receive full recognition of their equality with people of other nationalities. "Such recognition of equality, political po-litical and Bocial," he added, is denied de-nied to Japan so long as her subjects are discriminated against and cannot enjoy rights and privileges accorded to other aliens." oo |
