Show OLD-TIMER ISN'T SWEET ON H THOSE MODERN STARS tH Just to show what folks thing of H our baseball teams, we wish to relate H a little Btory Hugh Jennings told us H recently. Seems one of the big league H clubs was playing at San Antonio this H spring. It was an exhibition gamo with H the San Antonio club of the Texas H league. Who should bo present as a H spectator but one of tho members of IH the old Baltimore club. The teamB IH played ono of those ragged gamos, so H common in the spring. Tho old-timer IH watched, and "thon, towards tio end IH of the gamo, Jennings went over and H shook hands with him, asking: "Well, H what do you think of the team?" Tho H old-tunor stopped to collect his H thoughts .a moment, and then blurted H out: "If that's a ball club, then there H ain't any moro good ball players." H |
