Show Garland News Items (Special to the Ogden Standard.) GARLAND, April 9. A social was given by tho officers of the M. I. A. after the conclusion of their season's work. It was attended by about fifty guests, officers with, their families, and the ward bishopric. An interest program pro-gram was arranged and entertaining games wore played, followed by dell-clous dell-clous refreshments. The officers reported re-ported the work of the association to be very successful. Mrs. George R. Colo was hostess to the Ladles' Self Culture club last Tues-I Tues-I day, when twenty-six friends were j present, Mrs. D. Cole presided and re-! re-! ports of several committees were received re-ceived and approved. The following named Indios were guests of the hostess: hos-tess: Mrs. A. B. Manausa, Mrs. A. R. Capener, Mrs. J. L. Nlhart, Mrs. Geo W. Austin, Mrs. F. A. Mnnnusa, the Misses Nellie Barnard, Ruth Larson,' Mamio Sasser, Alta Harris. A delicious deli-cious lunch was served by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Empoy were given giv-en a pleasant social at their home Wednesday by about thirty of their neighbors and friends. Games, singing sing-ing and dancing was the evening's enjoyment en-joyment and a, delicious lunch was served. Thoso present were, besides Mr. and Mrs, Empey, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. R. Evans, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Lclshman, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. J. Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bates, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Georgo Archibald, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Pritchard, Mrs. Carrie Perkins, Mrs. Harry Thompson, Mrs. McMurtrie, the Messrs. M. W. Lanoy, A D. Turner, George Davis, M. Lundquist, Wm. Hughes and Miss Eva Empey. Mr. and Mrs. R. V, Daniels visited relatives in Malad this week, returning 'this morning. Dr. T. W. Ives spent part of the week in Ogden on business. H. L. Moore is In Ogden this weok visiting with friends. George Gleason has been on a business busi-ness trip to Brigham City this week. Miss May Empey spent part of tho week in Evans, visiting her sister, Miss Ada Empey. Mrs. Chris Peterson and daughtors, Flo and Vida, are visiting relatives in Ogden this week. Mrs. J. C. Wheelon and daughter, Mrs. T. W. Burns, visited relatives in Brigham City the fore part of the ! week. - Mrs. II. P. Swlnyard is in Brigham City visiting with relatives. ' Mr. and Mrs. Abramson and children spent part of the week with relatives in Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Pearson are spending this week in Salt Lake City. Mrs. George Austin has returned to her home in Salt Lake City after an extended visit here with relatives. Charles Minns, who returned last week from California, went to Salt Lako Tuesday. Mrs. Joseph Hadley of Brigham City is here in Garland, the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Wallace Wood. Mrs. Fred Manning left for Mendon to visit relatives at that plage. |
