Show SENATOR SUTHERLAND'S LABOR RECORD SNOWS RIM TO BE-FRIEND OE UNIONS Report on Utah Statesman's Activity in Behalf of Working-man Working-man in Upper House Reveals Fact He Favored or Helped Secure Passage of Fifteen Measures and Opposed Ten on Ground They Would Prove Unconstitutional; Document, Now in Hands of Brotherhood Representatives, Compiled From Congressional Records. The labor record of George Suthorland in tho United States senate shows that he favored and helped securo tho passage of fifteen labor measures meas-ures and opposed ten. The measures he helped enact into law have proved prov-ed highly beneficial to labor and stand as a consistent refutation of the charge that he was unfavorable to the causo of organized labor. His opposition op-position to the ten measures in question was based on the conclusion that they would prove unconstitutional. Tho senator is a recognized authority on question of law and is competent to pass on proposals affecting the basic statutes. This removes the doubt as to the motive of the opposition. Senator Sutherland, at tho time, was considering the welfare of the laboring la-boring man and would not countenance any measure that contained pro-vislonswhich pro-vislonswhich wouldcreato a condition diametrically opposite to the object sought. The following report, now in (he hands of tho railway brotherhoods, brother-hoods, was compiled from the congressional records. The facts presented present-ed clarify tho atmosphere regarding the senator's position on labor and his attitude toward any measure whose object is for common benefit. H. E. Wills, P. J.
