Show LIGHTING CONTRACT AT CAPITOL IS LET. Salt Lake, April 1. Contract for lighting the new state capltol grounds was let yesterday by the capitol commission com-mission to Eardley Brothers. This concern'B bid was $9500. The contract calls for seven ty-f our ornamental lamp posts on the grounds, most of them on tho walks and drives of the front approach, some on the west and east sides and some extending extend-ing back to Fourth North street on the new Wasatch boulevard. These posts will carry in all 122 electric lights of 250-candle power each Twelve of the posts In front will have clusters of five of these lights each; the others one each. The contract does not contemplate the .flood-lighting of the capital at night. The commission decided not to attempt that at this time. It may bo done later. Other bidders for the lighting contract con-tract were the Inter-Mountain Electric company and tho Capital Electric company The capitol commission spent most of Its time at Its session yesterday discussing the lighting question. Action Ac-tion on the formal opening date and other matters were deferred until the next meeting. |
