Show oo H SUPPOSED MAD DOG H KILLED AT EUREKA H Salt Lake, April 1. Eureka, the H mining town in Utah, has had a mad H dog scare. The state board of health H -was advised yesterday of the "killing H of a dog belonging to A. H. Hall of H: Eureka after it had run amuck with Hj an apparent attack of rabies. Mr. H Hall wrote that the head of the dead H dog was being sent here for examlna- H, tion as to rabies by the state b.icterio- H. logist. It is expected to get here to- H day. Hall's dog did not bite any H human beings. There waB no mlstak- H, ing the fact that it was mad, its own- H cr wrote. The animal became so vio H lent that the owner killed it to save H his own life. H Mr. Hall believes that his pet was H bitten by a rabid coyote, which had H drifted over to Eureka from the rabies H, district of Nevada. H John K. Hardy, secretary to Gov- j ernor Spry, and Attorney General A. H R. Barnes are, drafting a quarantine B proclamation to be issued by the gov- j ernor against bringing dogs into the Hh state. This will be a precaution j against rabies. |
