Show COMPANIES HOLD PLEASANT MEETINGS. Company R, Daughters of Pioneers held a pleasant meeting at the homo ( of Mrs. Carstenson on Canyon Road, Thursday noon. Mrs. Mattle Read gave a sketch of the life of Moroni Thomas and Mrs. Sadie West, visiting Daughter, gave a short talk. Refresh menta were Berved. Company G met with Mrs. J. H. Gay on Adams avenue and Twenty-first street Thursday at 2:30. "Women of Marmondom" was the title of a reading read-ing by Mrs. Mary Heller after which MIbs Amy Shupe gave a piano solo and a duet was given by Miss Geneva Marriott and MIbs Shupe. Mrs. Norma Nor-ma Evans Sears gave several readings read-ings from Ella Wheeler Wilcox. Daughter Roxana Pidcock was re-elected captain of the company. Mrs. Gay contributed a bound book of the Des-eret Des-eret News publication, papers dating from July 1863 to September 1864. This is to bo added to the Daughters Daugh-ters of Pioneers' library. Later Mrs. Gay, assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Shupe and grand-daughter, Miss Amy Shupe, served refreshments. Mrs. Millie Flygare was the visiting Daughter, Daugh-ter, present. |
