Show CHILD CULTURE CLUB OBJECTS TO SMOKE NUISANCE Ladies of the Child Culture club today petitioned the city board of commissioners to prohibit the burning burn-ing of leaves and other rubbish in the city, protesting that the smudge Is offensive, filling the air with obnoxious ob-noxious fumes. The petition was referred re-ferred to the city attorney with the admonition that smoke prohibitive law against the nuisance complained of be incorporated In the revised ordinances, or-dinances, if possible. Ordinances confirming property assessments as-sessments for the following improvements improve-ments were passed: Concrete paving on Madison avenue, between Twenty-fifth and Twenty-eighth Twenty-eighth streets; sidewalk on Cook street, between Adams and Jefferson avenues, and on Hudson avenue, between be-tween Fifteenth and Seventeenth streets; curb and gutter on Twenty-first Twenty-first street, between Jefferson and Madison avenues; curb and gutter on Monroe avenue, between Twentieth and Twenty-first streets, and on Madison Mad-ison avenue, between Twenty-second and Twenty-third streets. |
