Show ROCHESTER BEATS TONUPAH'S RECORD The camp of Rochester in its first year has almost doubled the output of Tonopah during the corresponding period of its existence. F. A. Wheeler Wheel-er of Chicago, widely known in the mining camps of the west, who has just completed an inspection of the Rochester region, Is quoted by a Lovelock paper as saying: "The showing surprised me. All accomplished in less than a year. I was at the horning of Tonopah and Goldfield and saw their development. In comparison, considering time apd production, Rochester Is the real thing. The conditions are great and the future possibilities of the district superior to anything I have seen tn my extensive travels Remember that Tonopah's production during the first year was something over $300,-000, $300,-000, while I am reliably informed that the first year's production of the Rochester Ro-chester district is over $550,000. "This is the equivalent of saying never in the history of Neada was the mining future brighter or the present pres-ent showing better, and Rochester is the important contributor to this observation. ob-servation. Another thing, the dis trict is not a one-vein camp. The two main big veins exposed through work are on the Nenzel property aui the Buck and Charley. Radiating from these are numerous cross fis- surcs. as well as cross feeders, which assure great bodies of ore and which can be handled at a profit This means something and that is. that the earth from Packard and beyond American canyon north to Rye Patch and westerly beyond Lincoln hill is broken with veins and dykes carrying carry-ing the precious and useful metals and which in time will prove the grent mining producing section of the west." |
