Show MEAT WILL SELL AT LOWER PRICES. There are fair prospects that the high cost of living will be cut down. Food products are being imported from foreign countries in large quantities quan-tities and prices soon must drop. During November last the importations importa-tions of meat doubled, 6,000,000 pounds coming from Argentina, 2,-750,000 2,-750,000 pounds from Canada and 600,-000 600,-000 pounds from Australia. The shipping In of meat from foreign lands will have an effect on the price of meatB In tho local markets. Already Al-ready the price of cattle is lower than three months ago. New Zealand butter Is coming to Ogden and soon New Zealand beef will be on sale. Even potatoes are being brought In, the importations in one month increasing in-creasing 200 per cent. In 1905, the United States exported cattle to the value of $40,000,000 and the imports were very small. The past year less than $1,000,000 represented repre-sented the exportations, and the imports im-ports of beef were $15,000,000. This must have a direct influence on meat prices. If continued, meat will be selling in Ogden at a reduction reduc-tion of 25 per cent on present prices within a year. nn |
