Show oo GRIEVES AT DEATH; . TAKES HIS OWN LIFE Salt Ijike. Jan 7. Alma Harper, 35 years of age, who was a clerk in the money order department of the local postoffice, committed suicide at his residence, 174 H street about ? o'clock yesterday afternoon bj shooting shoot-ing himself. The body was found in an upright position on a box in the chicken coop by Mrs. Harper, presumably some time after Harper had been dead. No shot was heard, according to the neighbors. A 32-caliber revolver was found near Harper, and the bullet had entered his mouth and ranged up ward through his hratn. It is believed by the family that Harper had been grieving over the loss of two qf his children, who died within the last few years. Besides his wife he is survived by two children, chil-dren, 10 and S years of age respectively. respec-tively. The body was removed to th undertaking establishment of S. M. Taylor. An Investigation was made of Harper's Har-per's accounts in the postoffice by Inspectors L. A. McGee, William Mc-Henry Mc-Henry and L. E Bradshaw, who said last night that the first audit disclosed dis-closed an Irregularity aggregating about $20, but the oflcials were certain cer-tain that this amount would be found when the investigation is completed.
