Richard Harding Davis, who recently took a special company com-pany of motion picture artists to Cuba to reen.ict the scenes amidst the proper tropical setting. Mr, Outeault is the head of the newly formed Outeault Film Company, a $50.-0(H) $50.-0(H) concern, which will produce a series of single-reel comedies featuring "Butter" "But-ter" and his famous pet. I These comedies will show "Buster Brown, the Cowboy," "Buster Brown, the Chauffeur," and similar subjects. This comedy series will i be well advertised adver-tised in that the "Buster Brown" cartoons car-toons appear in the newspapers in this country and England. It is not generally known that OTer seven million people daily attend motion picture theatres, which brings to mind what an enormous task it is and has been to safeguard their lives. This is principally attained by means of proper and sufficient safety devices on the projecting pro-jecting machines, and it is interesting to note that a gold medal was awarded to the Nicholas Power Company, manufacturers manufac-turers of Power's Cameragraph, by the American Museum of Safety, under whose auspices the First International Exposition of Safety and Sanitation was held at the Grand Centrsl Palace, New lork. last month. This distinguished tribute to the mechanical genius and untiring un-tiring efforts of Mr. Nicholas Power has been the occasion of much rejoicing by those who have been bending their energies ener-gies to uplift the motion picture art, especially with regard to the prevention of fire and accident, and Mr. Power has been heartily congratulated. Captain Bauer, of the Massachusetts State Militia, during the annual two Weeks' encampment at South Framing-ton, Framing-ton, Mass., had motion pictures of every phase of camp life in the field taken with a Powers Cameragraph No. 0a Projection Machine, and is now showing these pictures in the State armories ar-mories and public schools of Massachusetts Massa-chusetts to stimulate interest in the State Militin. |
