Show LETTER FROM AN OGDEN SOLDIER Ed Freborg, an Ogden youth, now-serving now-serving in the Untied States army at Ringo, Texas, has written to his mother mo-ther about the war conditions In that vicinity. Mrs. Freborg resides at 2740 Lincoln and her son is a sergeant ser-geant in the Fourteenth United States cavalry, troop G. In his letter, he states That his troop has been ordered to be In readi uess to cross the Mexican border at any moment and that a train of supplies sup-plies Is located at lser. a nearby station, sta-tion, waiting orders to move with the troop. He also states that the antt-Aioftrlcan feeling is high among the Mexicans al Rlngo and other border bor-der towns and the Americans are somewhat uneasy, as they are outnumbered out-numbered ten to one. The wives of the American officers are leaving Fort Ringo for their homes and he expects Mrs Freborg to leave for Ogden Og-den early next week. Sergeant Freborg's term of enlistment enlist-ment expires on May 28. but he says that he will re-enlist for two years if the trouble with Mexico continues. |
