Show TRUCE AGREEMENT IS CONTINUED Strikers at Walsenburg Given Opportunity to Remove Dead From Hills. Walsenburg, Colo. April ."U. A re quest by John McGregor for a continuance con-tinuance of the truce agreement, reached last night, to enable the strikers stri-kers to remove their dead from the surrounding hills and care for their wounded, was granted by the militia authorities shortly before noon today McGregor and other strike leaders refused to give out Information as to their losses In yesterday's battle and none of the militia or local authorities authori-ties had explored the lulls along the three miles of battle front. From a reliable source, it was intimated in-timated that the strikers lost at least a score in yesterday's engagement with the militia and that their wounded wound-ed would exceed that number. Doubt i was expressed, whether a complete I list of strikers' casualties ever would be secured, as It was agreed that many of the wounded and some of the dead probably were removed from the more accessible parts of the field during the night. Inquest Over Major Lester. Coroner W. S Chapman stated he would hold an inquest over the body of Major P. P. Lester. In a statement he said that Major Lester, being a member of the hospital hos-pital corps, was a non-combatant that he was not on the firing line but j was Home distance away, attending I Lieutenant Scott, who had been wounded. List of Dead. A revised list of the known dead in the fighting at the Walsen mine, prepared today was as follows Major P. P. Lester, killed Wednesday Wednes-day Henry Floyd, citizen, killed Tuesday Tues-day night while riding a motorcycle George Bock, striker, killed early Tuesday in Walsenburg. Italian striker known as Dominick, killed Wednesday. No official confirmation con-firmation could be had as to the strikers' casualties. There was no session today of the coroners Inquest over the Victims of the Ludlow battle of April 20, contrary con-trary to previous plans. The coroner announced that witnesses were bein&. lined up today and that the hearings would be resumed tomorrow morning |
