Show BARBERS NOTIFIED all unclean shops must be mada sanitary unsanitary barber shops have incurred the wrath of the state board of barber examiners and a cleanup Is being rigidly enforced in salt lake and ogden heavy fines accompany the violation of the state law governing the sanitation of tonsorial establishments and the board Is de to prosecute the offenders local board member W M piggott inspected a number of twenty fifth street shops yesterday the condition of some of which was found to be unhealthy and a positive menace to the public in one shop water was obtained from a half gallon kettle on a cold stove and the towels were not clean mr piggott notified the proprietor that unless an immediate cleaning up occurred he would commence action against him and revoke his license he exacted a promise from the barber to conform with the state board regulations at another shop operated by jap barbers he found insufficient supply soiled linen aal dirt in abundance the japs knofl ever are excellent barbers and passed remarkably good tests before the state board but they are disposed to follow the lines of least resistance as regards the sanitation of their shop so a word of warning was left with them by mr piggott welch had the desired effect and for the time being the shop is in a presentable condition A number of other shops barely came within the requirements to prevent the spread of disease the state board has decided to wage a strenuous war against unclean shops and in case their orders are not obeyed at once the examiners will use the courts to compel cither proper sanitation or to revoke the licenses of the guilty parties |
