Show DEMOCRATS OF WEBER COUNTY MEET At tho assembling of tho 153 dele-gatea dele-gatea to the Democratic county convention con-vention in this city at 11:30 thlo morning, no ear-splitting campaign keynote was sounded, no enthusiasm prevailed and the conentlon affairs were taken up in a matter-of-fact manner. County Chairman W. W. Browning presided as temporary chairman and I. C. Emmett was called call-ed to fill the office of temporary secretary sec-retary In just thirty minutes after the convention was rapped to order by the chairman, the three committees, commit-tees, credentials, platform and organization or-ganization and order of business were appointed and the committeemen had retired to their respective rooms to deliberate. Tho conent!on adjourned adjourn-ed to meet again al 1:30 p. ro. S. S. Smith adised the convention that, when the time arrived for tho selection of central committeemen, the names of the advisory board of the Wilson-Marshall club should he given attention as it might bo well to use some of the board on the central committee. Ho etatcd that ho considered con-sidered it would bo wise if the county central committee and the directors of the destinies or the club were merged into ono organization for campaign purposes. No aotion was In the naming of the committee, all the districts of the county responded re-sponded with the names of persons to act on them and nearlv very delegation dele-gation had its full representation present The committees wero made up of a delegate from each precinct Afternoon Session. It was 2 o'clock this afternoon before be-fore the convention reconroned. the committee on permanent organlzat on and order of business rocommending the following permauont oftlcers, who were accepted without dissent: Chairman D S Cook Vice Chairmen Mrs J. B. Cawley, Mrs J. M. Bishop. Mr. Alice Taylor and Mrs. Alma Peterson Secretary Irving C. Tynimett. Assistant Secretary W. H. Har-combe Har-combe Chaplain W. H. Tolhurst. Chairman Cook delivered quite a lengthy address to tho convention discussing dis-cussing some of the questions involved involv-ed in the ponding campaign, and urging urg-ing the Democrats to become united and cast their full strength at the polls In November. The following declaration of principles, prin-ciples, presented by Hyrum Belnap, as chairman of the resolutions committee, com-mittee, was unanimously adopted by the convention and tbc convention then proceeded with the regular order or-der of business. Platform. "We, the Democrats of Weber county, in convention assembled, declare de-clare our allegiance to ttie principles contained In tho platforms of our party, adopted in national and state conventions, and pledge our loyal support sup-port to the candidates named at this convention. ' We rejoice In the growth of tho principles of Democracy and Invite the suffrage of tho citizens of Weber county In support of our candidates, national, state and county. "We commend the commission form of city government for Ogden City and approve the course of the present pres-ent city commissioners in the enforcement enforce-ment of tho city ordinances, and note with pleasure the improvement manifest mani-fest in the moral town of Ogden "We favor a liberal policy respect ing the improvement or our county reads and bellcvo the roads of the outlying districts should receive just and due consideration from our coun-tv coun-tv commissioners.
