Show t I ' PROGRESSIVE STATE TICKET. TheProgressive party of Utah enters the campaign with the II strongest ticket ever presented to the voters of Utah. There is not a man in the list of nominees of yesterday's convention who is not lmown to be a strong character from Kcphi L. Morris, the candidate M for Governor, to George N. Lawrence who is to be our next attorney H 1 general. And, not to overlook the ladies, we direct attention to the fact that our own Mrs. Dr. Coulter, one- of the brightest women in the state, and Mrs. "W. W. De Wolf of Beaver county were named as electors. The candidates for congress, Stephen H. Love and Louis Larson, are among the most prominent citizens of the state, Er. Love being one of the foremost business men of Salt Lake. Pr. Larson made an excellent impression in his talk to the. convention. Prank J. Ilendershot, Jr.. of Ogden has the respect and esteem of this entire community and we vouch for him as ono most fitted to occupy the office o secretary of state. As evidence of the fact that the Progressive party is drawing from both the old parties, the convention had the pleasure of being addressed by Judge Ogden Hiles, a former Democrat and one of the attorneys of this state to whom all concede a judicial mind and the honesty of purpose essential to a judge. We do not know of a candidate on the entire ticket against whom honest criticism could be directed. Standing on a state platform of reform and committed to the just cause of the third party in the nation, we fail to see how the candidates named yesterday can fail to win the confidence and support sup-port of the people of Utah. This is a long.looked-for opportunity to clean out the state offices, of-fices, destroy the rule of the bosses and place Utah in the front rank of Progressive states |
