When the proposition was first made to change the News from a "Ready Print" paper to an eight-page eight-page all-home print publication, there were many who doubted the advisability of the move, on the alleged al-leged ground that there would be difficulty in filling it with live news. As an answer to this objection, it becomes necessary to publish in this i week's issue, the following items which were, through lack of space, crowded out of the previous edition. Married in Salt Lake Temple. Walter Blackner and Miss Margaret Margar-et Murdock went to Salt Lake this week, with a double purpose in view to attend Conference and to attend at-tend their own wedding, which took place in the Temple, Wednesday. Milford friends of the couple wish them all the happiness and prosperity prosper-ity of life. WHO FOUND IT? George Weston, the popular clerk of the Jefferson Mercantile store, had the misfortune to lose his purse containing a greenback of a size which he cannot well afford to lose, and over the loss of which, he has gone into mourning. Can anyone comfort him? Eagles Will Try to Organize.' H. S. McCann, vice president of the State Grand Lodge of Fraternal Order of Eagles, will be in Milford next Sunday, for the purpose of attempting at-tempting organization of that Order locally. A preliminary meeting will 'be held in the opera house, Sunday afternoon, October 15th, to which the public generally and especially all those who would care to join the order, are cordially invited. High School Election Students Hold Primary and Elect Officers. Wednesday afternoon, the Community Com-munity Government association of the high school, held a primary, elected delegates, held a convention and nominated a ticket, all samee Bull-Moose, Borubons, and G. O. P. The election resulted as follows: Mayor, Reed LaTourette, magistrate, magis-trate, Nathan Smith; chief of police, Samuel Hickman; councillor from First Precinct, Juanita Miller, and Eugene Pitchforth; from Second District, Dis-trict, Harry Ravis and Bernett Fauth. ' Ladies' Aid Society Handsomely Entertained. En-tertained. Thursday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. Henry Jefferson, the Ladies' Aid Society of the M. E. church, was entertained by the hostess, in honor of the visit of Mrs. Jefferson's mother, moth-er, Mrs. McDonald, who expects to depart, shortly for the east. About forty ladies were present at the function and elaborate refreshments re-freshments were served the guests. |
