Show " Deadline for Playwriting Contest,Feb.29 February 29 is the deadline for submitting entries in the 1976 playwriting competition sponsored spon-sored by the Utah State Institute of Fine Arts. There is no limitation on the type of plays that may be submitted but the author must have a copyright on the title of the play. Musicals, comedies, tragedies, poetic dramas and works of any other genre will be eligible. Up to eight plays will be chosen for readers' theatre presentation and each will receive an award of $75 to assist with costs of presentation. Dates for reading theatre presentations will be announced. Directors of theatres throughout the state will be invited in-vited to the readers' theatre presentations and may choose one or more plays to produce in their theatres. For each play produced, the theatre involved will receive $700 from the Institute In-stitute to assist with scenery, costumes and other production costs. The Institute will also present an honorarium of $600 to playwrights whose plays are selected for production. Production of more new plays is the objective of the Institute's statewide competition.
