Show Cedar High has Bomb Scare Cedar City Police and authorities at Cedar High School reacted to a bomb threat at the campus Wednesday of last week, but that's all it was--a threat. The main building on the CHS campus was evacuated for a half-hour as the result of the threat-but many students took advantage of the scare to be away from school most of the day extending their Thanksgiving holiday an extra day returning to school on Monday of this week. Chief of Police Doug Bolton received a call near 9 a.m. Wednesday indicating that there was a bomb at the Cedar High School set to go off at 1 p.m. That was all of the conversation, con-versation, Chief Bolton stated. Although both police and school authorities believed the call to be a hoax, nevertheless, action was taken to evacuate the building by 12:45 p.m. At 1 : 15 p.m. those students still on campus were invited to return to their classes and no explosion occured. Despite the briefness of the call efforts are still being made to determine from where the call was made and by whom. Some leads have come up and will be followed through authorities indicate. |
