Show Make-Ahead Gala Dessert You can make this impressive frozen dessert well ahead and stash it away in your freezer. At, serving time, you may wish to garnish as in the photo with almonds that have been lightly brushed with corn syrup to make them glisten. White Christmas Fantasy 2 cups whipping cream 2 cans (8 12 oz. each) 2 jars (7 oz. each) marsh- crushed pineapple, mallow cream drained 114 cups whole natural 13 cup lime or lemon juice (unblanched) almonds 4 teaspoons rum or 1 tea-23 tea-23 cup each red and green spoon rum extract candied cherries, 1 teaspoon almond chopped extract Whip cream stiff; gradually beat in marshmallow cream. Reserve about 13 cup almonds for garnish; coarsely chop remainder. Spread chopped almonds in shallow pan, toast at 400 degrees about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Fold chopped almonds and cherries into cream mixture along with pineapple, lime juice, rum and almond extract. Turn into 8-cup ring mold; freeze. Unmold onto serving plate and garnish with almonds and cherries. Makes 12 to 14 servings. |
