Show Cedar Redmen travel to Moapa, Vegas this week Cedar High School Redmen, with a pair of victories under their belts, will tackle what is expected to be more difficult competition this week as they venture into Nevada for a pair of games. Friday night the Redmen will be in Moapa to tangle with a Moapa crew that traditionally has been a strong basketball power in the small school ranks of Nevada. Saturday night the real test will be in store for the Redmen as they venture to the city of lights and glamour where they will meet Valley High School. Valley High is one of the larger and predicted to be one of the more powerful clubs of the Las Vegas area this season. Coach Dick Hobbs believes that the battle Saturday, particularly, par-ticularly, will be a real test for the Redmen, but, fears that they could stumble Friday overlooking Moapa toward Saturday's contest. "We have good bench strength and some of the purest shooters I've ever had the opportunity to coach, " Hobbs states. "We can be a real power this season and this week's play may give us an opportunity to really see how tough we are," he suggested. If nothing else the battles will give Coach Hobbs and his Redmen crew a real warm up for their first battle against one of the tougher. Class 3A schools in the state - Judge Memorial. The Redmen will host Judge Memorial. That battle is scheduled December 12 in the Cedar High gymnasium. In the two Nevada games Friday and Saturday the Red-men Red-men will split the squad for junior varsity games to precede each of the varsity battles. Game times are set for 7:30 p.m. Pacific time Friday and at 8 p.m. PST Saturday. |
