Show Churchesexpanding role told by D. Spencer Palmer Dr. Spencer Palmer, chairman chair-man of Asian Studies at BYU addressed the LDS Forum students stu-dents on Jan. 23. Dr. Palmer Is originally from Eden, Ariz. He is a regional representative representa-tive of the Twelve Apostles, representing Asia, the largest area of the Church in the world. His topic was the Uni. versal Nature of the Church with special emphasis of Asia. Dr. Palmer stressed the fact that this Is a time of change In the world, in the individual and in the Church as well. We ara an expanding Church In a changing world Can we meet the challenge? The purpose pur-pose of our faith is to unite the family, the Church as a family of growing wards and stakes, to set the proper example ex-ample to those who are not of our belief. "We need to transform from an American religion to a worldwide movement of organized or-ganized bearers of the Gospel. It Is our obligation to carry the truth by word of mouth and by living the command, ments so that everyone will hav.? the privilege of hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ In his own tongue," Dr. Palmer asserted. |
