Music Arts to host dance group Utah Repertory Dance The. atre will present a full even-ing even-ing of contemporary dance in Cedar City at the Cedar City High School .on Tuesday evening, even-ing, February 6, 1973 at 8:15 p.m.. The Cedar City appearance is part of a winter tour which will take the nationally recog. nized and highly regarded Utah company to California college and university campus, es and to Seattle, Wash., where they will participate for one month in the Artists. In-The-Schools program, a joint educational effort funded by the United States Office of Education Ed-ucation and the National Endowment En-dowment for the Arts. J The Utah Repertory Dance Theatre performance, sponsored sponsor-ed by the Cedar City Music Arts Association, will Include five dance works from the company' sextensive repertory; Jose Limon's classic work. Concerto Grosso in D Minor, choreographed in 1946; Chant an exciting visual work created creat-ed toy former RDT member, Tim Wengerd; Five Songs In August, a refently created five part work commissioned by the National Endowment for the Arts and choreographed by company member Bill Evans Ev-ans of Lehi, Utah; Passengers, choreographed in 1970 toy New York based choreographer Viola Vi-ola Farber; and Tin-Tal, also choreographed toy Mr. Evans of Utah Repertory Dance Theatre. The-atre. Music Arts officers point out that the program is an "extra" for this season, which has been made possible as the re-i re-i suit of a grant received' toy the' Music Arts Committer toy the Utah Institute of Fine Arts. Patrons of Music Arts will be admitted on their season tickets tick-ets without extra charge. Individual Indi-vidual tickets will also be available at the door on the evening of the performance. |
