Lewis to direct SUSC play A young director who be- came familiar to southern Utah theatre audiences through Southern Utah State College Campus-Community Theatre performances is now on the other side of the footlights foot-lights directing his first major production for the SUSC Drama Dra-ma DeDartment. Barbara Mack, Cedar City, Is assistant director. Sets are by Gary Mclntyre, SUSC artistic art-istic designer, and costumes are by Miss Memmott. Terral S. Lewis, appointed to the SUSC faculty last fall, Is producing Lillian Helman's 'The Litte Foxes," one of the most moving dramas of American Amer-ican theatre. Performances will be presented Feb, 7 through 10 at 8:15 p.m. in the SUSC auditorium. Mr. Lewis stated that Miss Hellman's play has been one of his favorites since he participated par-ticipated in the Brigham Young University production in 1967 as a freshman at that university. During his sophomore sopho-more year he transferred to SUSC, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech-drama in 1971. He re-turned re-turned to BYU In 1972 to receive re-ceive a Master of Arts degree In theatre. Although Mr. Lewis is di- rector oi cnuarens ineaire and movement coach at SUSC, he will direct at least one of the major drama productions each year. His responsibilities In th.9 children's theatre area will be to supervise production produc-tion of senior thesis projects by graduating drama majors. He will also be involved with a new summer theatre project b e I ng inaugurated this year in Kanab, his home town. Mr. Lewis feels that his cast for "The Little Foxes" is exceptionally talented and well suited to the production. He said that each participant has emerged with a well developed de-veloped characterization for the play, and that the staging stag-ing is well ahead of schedule because of the cast's commitment commit-ment to line study and rehearsal. re-hearsal.
