Show Cedar City doctor retains AAFP member Dr. Arnold Lamar Graff, Jt., M.D., of Cedar City ihas completed com-pleted continuing education requirements to retain active membership In the American Academy of Family Physicians, Physic-ians, the national association of family doctors. The Academy Acad-emy formerly was called the American Academy of General Gener-al Practice. The requirements call or memibers to complete a minimum mini-mum of 150 hours of accredited accredit-ed continuing medical study every three years. Memibers become eligible for re-election at the end of th third year following their election to membership. The Academy, the country's second largest medical association, Is the only national medical group that requires members to keep up with medical progress through continuing education. The Academy, founded In 1947 and headquartered In Kansas City, Mo., was Instrumental Instru-mental In the establishment of a new primary medical specialty In family practice In 1969. The new specialty is expected to increase the number num-ber of family physicians available avail-able to serve the public In the future. The Academy's con-tinuing con-tinuing education program Is the foundation of eligibility for family doctors now in practice who apply for certification certifi-cation In the new specialty. |
