Show Adult High School program gives ! first diploma to Marie Millett On Monday afternoon, Mar. 19, Cedar City Adult High School awarded its first high school diploma this year. Dur-ing Dur-ing Iron County School Board meeting, Marie Carter Millett was presented an Adult High School Diploma by Dr. Garth Chatterley, President of the Board. Marie has completed a unit of Social Studies credit under LaVcll Chamberlain at night school. The Adult High School is designed on an Individual basis which permits students to work ahead as fast as they are able. Marie needed only on unit and completed It by the last of February. Three classes are being taught this year for High School credit. Other sources of credit are also recognized by the District. On the Job train- j ing is considered to be a learn. ing experience and high school credit is given for satisfactory j work experience. Military ex- perience and testing are also j recognized as credit sources. Marie reports that her night school was a very rewarding experience. She enjoyed it and felt that she learned a lot a- ; bout History. She is the daughter of Ted ' and Dorothy Carter of Miners-ville, Miners-ville, the wife of Evan Millett of Cedar City, and the mother of two sons, Mark and Stephen. Steph-en. Dr. Chatterley congratulated Marie on the effort which resulted re-sulted in this achievement and stated that a high school diploma is a very Important document in today's society. |
