Show Area students receive degrees at U V4P. TA in Architecture. He has served as a teaching assistant in the department of architecture and plans to return to Cedar City to practice with his father. GLENN HATCH ROBINSON Glenn Hatch Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon D. Robinson of Parowan received a Master of Business Administration degree. He received his BS in Economics from Utah State University in 1973 and is a 1968 graduate of Parowan High School. He is married to the, former Bonnie Bradshaw of Salt Lake City and they have one child. Robinson plans to work as an Economist for Mountain Fuel Supply in Salt Lake City. UICK PERRY Rick Perry, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthon Perry of Cedar City received a Master of Social Work degree and his thesis title was "Use of Slides to Encourage Individual or Group Discussion by Navajo Students." He received his BA degree in Sociology at Southern Utah State College and graduated from Cedar City High School. Perry attended the U on a grant from the Department of Health Education and welfare. He served as studentbody vice president at SUSC and is listed in Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges. Married to the former Lori Sanders of Hurricane. Beginning June 17 Perry will direct Indian Placement and foster care for LDS Social Services in Eastern Washington with headquarters in Spokane. Six Iron County Students attending at-tending the University of Utah were recipients of advanced degrees at commencement exercises conducted in Salt Lake City Saturday. Exercises were conducted in the 15,000 seat Special Events Center and Dr. Clark Kerr, chairman of the Carnegie Council on Policy Studies in Higher Education and former president of the University of California delivered the commencement address. Students from this area who received the advanced degrees included: ROBERT D.CORRY Robert D. Corry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood J. Corry of Cedar City received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the School of Medicine. The recipient is married to the former Barbara Willis. He received his BA degree from Southern Utah State College where he was executive Council of the LDSSA, member of the Acappella choir, and member of the varsity track team. A graduate of Cedar High School he served as sophomore and senior class president and was a member of the football, baseball and track teams. Dr. Corry will spend three years at Columbia, Ga. where he will serve a residency at the Medical Center. DAVID LEE David Lee, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Lee of Durango, Colo, received his PhD in English. His thesis was entitled Number One on the Best Seller List (a collection of original poetry). He received his BA degree from Colorado State University and his MA from Idaho State University. Currently Dr. Lee is serving as assistant professor in the Department of English at Southern Utah State College in Cedar City. He will assume the department chairmanship in July. His book of poetry is scheduled to be published by Copper Canyon Press this fall. He served a teaching assistantship at the University of Utah. He is married to the former Jan Marie Miller of Twin Falls, Idaho. ROBERT D.CORRY STEPHEN K. HARMON Stephen K. Harmon, assistant professor of Health Education at Southern Utah State College was the recipient of a PhD in Health Science with a minor in Environmental En-vironmental Biology. His thesis was entitled "A Comparison of Experimental and Lecture Learning Models in Teaching Human Ecology." Married to the former Marsha Overfelt of Gunnison, the Harmons Har-mons have two children. Dr. Harmon received his BS degree from the U of U and his early schooling was in Salt Lake City at Highland High School. He has served as treasurer of the Ecology Club and was a graduate teaching assistant at the U. RAYMOND GARDNER Raymond Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Robert Gardner of Cedar City, received a Master of Architecture degree at the exercises. His thesis was entitled: en-titled: "A Hotel Complex for the Proposed Shurtz Canyon Recreation Project." Gardner received a BS in Psychology from the U in 1972. He is a graduate of Cedar High School. He is married to the former Susan Smart. Gardner won Honors at Entrance En-trance Scholarship, graduated Cum Laude in Psychology, received the Richardson and Richardson Architecture Scholarship and was awarded the |
