Show ENOCH and MIDVALLEY NEWS By Veda Matheson Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Matheson returned on Tuesday of last week after spending two weeks in Salt Lake where LaMar was a patient in the VA Hospital undergoing tests. While in Salt Lake, Veda was the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Matheson and girls. Mr. and Mrs. Clint Matheson and boys made a trip to Salt Lake to see LaMar while he was there. Vicky Matheson was also in Salt Lake overnight, going with her parents and returning by bus. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Matheson were in Salt Lake recently on business. They stopped in Provo for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Baird. We have three new babies in this area. Born recently at the Valley View Medical Center was a boy to Ted and Marlene Holton of Las Vegas. Grandmother is Mrs. Mildred Maxwell of Enoch. Also born at the Valley View Medical Center was a boy to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Richardson and more recently a girl to Mr. and Mrs. Pete Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Olds and family have been visiting this past weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Olds. Mrs. Amanda Pace made a short visit to the hospital this past week and is now at home recovering from a bout of flu. Dean Maxwell of Murray and three boys stopped on Saturday to visit with the LaMar Matheson family and the Ivan Matheson family. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Webster of Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Webster of California and their families have moved to this area to make their homes. The Enoch Ward Fathers and Son's outing was held on Friday night with a good attendance and a pleasant dinner and outing in spite of the bad weather. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Davis spent part of last week here with Mrs. Drucilla Smith and grandchildren. grand-children. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Murie left on Sun. for a week in Salt Lake where they will learn to operate a new type of Kidney Machine for Elvin. A wedding reception was held on May 31 at the Enoch Ward Church for Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sorenson. The new Mrs. Sorenson is the former Gay Grimshaw, daighter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grimshaw. Among those who came from out of town were the grooms family, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Sorenson and two sons, Tom and Leslie, and daughters, Susan and Becky of Blackfoot, Idaho. Also Dorothy and Ray Orton of St. George and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Murie and Mr. and Mrs. David Jarvis of Hurricane. Jim and Gay were married a week earlier at the Idaho Falls Temple. Henry and Hilda and their entire family were in the Idaho city for the ceremony and the Open House that was held that evening in Blackfoot. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Smith of Bountiful and Mr. ana Mrs. urex Smith of Calif, were recent visitors with friends and relatives here. They also attended at-tended the Sorenson-Grimshaw reception. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Jackson made a brief weekend visit with Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Gibson. The Jacksons just returned to their Salt Lake City home from a trip to Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Anderson are visiting this area from their home in Mesquite, Nev. Mrs. Laura Hunter returned recently from a trip to see her family in Calif. Scott Grimshaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Grimshaw is visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Worth Grimshaw. Scott Grimshaw, Grim-shaw, son of Mr and Mrs. Arlene Grimshaw is spending some time with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George D. Grimshaw. William R. Grimshaw was in Salt Lake last week to move his w ife, Beverly here now that she is finished with her teaching position. Mary Blackburn and Norene Liggett of Provo were weekend house guests of Vicky Matheson. Franklin Jones and Edna Mae Munoz were in Salt Lake on Tuesday of last week to attend the graduation of Carl Munoz. Carl has visited here many times in the past. The day after their return, Edna Mae and her son went to Calif, to attend the graduation of another son there. |
