Show Artie Circle continues winning ways in National League chase Artie Circle 6 0 Jaycees 3 2 Lions 3 3 Ron's 2 3 Elks 2 5 Jones Motors 1 4 Arctic Circle, Lions and Ron's Sporting Goods all scored wins in abbreviated National Little League baseball action this past week. Friday games were postponed owing to the oiling program at the parks. Arctic Circle Monday evening managed to stay on top of the heap with an unblemished record of 6 and 0 with a 7-5 victory over Elks. Soderquist and Isaacson shared mound duties for the win and Soderquist homered in the contest. Elks made a stab at a come from behind victory in the contest con-test with four runs in the sixth frame but it was not enough. Peck was on the mound all the way for the losers. Lions victory also came, at the expense of the Elks as they tallied 16 runs to 2 for the win. McDonought, Cannon and Wood all saw mound duty for the winners while Bladen went the distance in suffering the loss. Elks scored both of their runs in the first frame and were shut out for the rest of the contest. Ron's scored a 9 8 victory over Jaycees behind the pitching Neilson. Ron's led through most of the contest but Jaycees made a valiant effort in the sixth frame whey tallied 7 of their 8 runs on five hits. Edwards and Gubler were on the mound for the Jaycees. |
