Show SUSC to host workshop for music teachers D. Evan Davis will be teaching a one-week workshop in Elementary School Music beginning Monday, June 17 at 1 p.m. at Southern Utah State College. Emphasis will be placed on Primary and Junior Sunday School music as well, according to Dr. Blaine Johnson, who announced an-nounced the concentrated workshop event. Dr. Davis is the recipient of many honors. He is listed in "Wrho's Who in the West," "Two Thousand Men of Achievement" and many others. He is the editor ot tne children's song book for the LDS Church entitled "Sing With Me." and he has served as a bishop, stake president, a counselor to a mission president and has served on the general board of the Sunday School. "It is a great opportunity for both public school teachers and church teachers of children to avail themselves of this opportunity op-portunity to work with Dr. Davis," Dr. Johnson suggested. Describing himself as a "general practitioner" of music education, Dr. Davis teaches Voice, Piano, and music education courses from preschool pre-school children's music to the doctoral research level. He has studied at the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music, at UCLA, USC, Northwestern University, the University of Oregon, and the Vienna Academy, receiving the BA, , M.Mus, and D.Ed, degrees.
