Show j j Matthews, O'Brien recite nuptial vows honeymoon in Zion Park before returning to California to make their home. The bride wore a poly pants and jacket ensemble which she had made. Honored guests at the reception recep-tion were grandparents of the bride, Mrs. George Campbell, Cedar and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse R. Matthews, Liberty, Idaho. Other out of town guests included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. Wiley M. Campbell of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. George Papadakis and daughters of Salt Lake City. Pre-nuptial courtesies included a shower given by the bride's colleagues at the University of California. The bride is a graduate of Cedar High vhere she was Student Body Secretary. She attended SUSC and received her BA degree fromn the University of Utah. She is currently a doctoral doc-toral candidate in psychobiology at the University of Calif, in Irvine. Mr. O'Brien is a graduate of Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, New Jersey. He received his BA degree from Brown University and an MS from the University of Calif., Irvine. CHARLES FRANCIS O'BRIEN Miss Dee Ann Matthews became the bride of Charles , Francis O'Brien on June 1 in a double ring ceremony. Bishop Haze Hunter officiated at the 5 o'clock ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell H. Matthews. She was given in marriage by her father. Parents of the bridgroom are Mrs. Eileen O'Brien and the late Joseph F. O'Brien of Brockton, Massachusetts. Mrs. Byron (Janice McAllister) was at the organ for the wedding and. Dr. Blaine Johnson sang "Daisies" by Samuel Barber. The prayer was given by the bride's grandfather Mr. Jesse R. Matthews. The evening preceding the wedding a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridgroom at the SUSC small ballroom. On June 2 a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Decorations with a Spanish theme included , a: miniature candelabra ' from Bolivia on the refreshment tables and a pinata hanging over the patio. The bride wore a gown of poly chiffon and delustered satin fashioned with a flowing circular skirt with a slight train and accented ac-cented at the waist by chiffon blossoms and streamers. Her headpiece held a chapel length mantilla veil trimmed with Venise lace. The ensemble which was fashioned by the bride and, her mother was made complete with a bouquet of Forever Yours Red Roses and Lily of the Valley. Mrs. Dale (Jeanne) Hunt, sister of the bride, attended as matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Maureen O'Brien, sister of the bridegroom of San Francisco, Calif, and Miss Diane Gilles of Sacramento, Calif. They carried bouquets of long stem Forever Yours Red Roses. Petite Tonia Hunt, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. She carried a basket of baby roses. The attendants wore long gowns fashioned from a knit nylon print by Yves Sain Laurent. Best man was Dale Hunt, brother-in-law of the bride. Drew Matthews, the brid's brother was the usher and Ray Stocks was gift bearer. The brid's mother wore a burnt salmon formal with jacket. The bridegroom's mother wore a pale blue formal. They had orchid corsages. Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Nancy) Silvester and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine (Lea) Johnson were hosts and hostesses for the reception. At the guest book were Miss Susan Seaman and Mrs. Bill ..(Kathy) Painter. ; Mrs... Byron (Janice). McAllister was at the organ. The ladies wore minuette rose corsages. Mrs. Fred (Lois) Murray, Mrs. Glen (Clara) Wahlquist, Mrs. Ron (Jean) Williams, and Mrs. Drex (Maxine) Adams served the refreshments assisted . by Mrs. Jim (Lanita) Tullis as serving hostess. Girls taking the refreshments to the table were Misses Heidi Moffett, Margaret Murray, Elizabeth Murray, and Tracy Stocks. In a patio setting timbal iron rosettes were served with fruit kabobs and fruit punch. The three-tiered wedding cake by LaRine Bradshaw was decorated with red and pink roses and accented by a miniature flowing fountain. The newlyweds left for a brief |
