Show County DUP camps organize at annual confab in Parowan PAROWAN The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers held their annual convention June 24 in Parowan with camps from Cedar, Parowan and Paragonah participating. A program was presented with a welcome given by Arvilla H. Day, president of the Iron County DUP. Vyonne Chamberlain played preliminary organ music and for congregational singing with Gladys Isom as the chorister. County officers were elected and reports were given on the past years activities by the camp captains. Idella Robinson is captain of the Betsy Topham Camp. Gwen Sharrat chairman of Iron Mission Camp. Ruby Whicker, Elizabeth Camp, Zella Matheson, Coal Creek Cam- p.Aunt Margaret Camp, Mary Ann Starr; Aunt Paulina Camp, Zona Topham. Tribute to honored guests was by Hilma Lamoreaux and Zella Matheson. Brenda Adams sang a solo accompanied by her mother, Vyonne Chamberlain and Vyonne also played a medley of favorite songs. After the program a lunch was served. New officers for the Elizabeth Camp are Captain Ruby Whicker; 1st vice president, Pearl Benson; 2nd vice president, Burtrude Mitchell; Sec. Treas., May Simpkins; Lessons, Sandra Benson; Historian, Marlene Burton; Registrar, Ruth Anna Jensen; Chorister, Brenda Adams; Organist, Ola Robinson; Chaplin, Kristine Robinson. . |
