Show Program in Youth Fitness to be offered at SUSC summer session A Youth Fitness Program for boys and girls from 8 to 14 will be offered at Southern Utah State College, it was announced this week. The four week Youth Fitness program will be held July 2 through August 5. Emphasis of the program is upon sport skills and fitness and will be under the supervision of specialists who will help children to understand and develop key elements of motor performance. Official registration for the program will be in connection with the regular SUSC Summer School Registration on Friday, July 5. Fee for the program is $15.00r Detailed information may be obtained by contacting Bruce Osborne or Pat Rippee of the SUSC Physical Education Department. Those in charge point out that it will be necessary for each participant par-ticipant to have written permission per-mission of their parents to participate and that each will be required to wear a complete gym uniform. Activities included in the program will include Weight Training. Gymnastics and Posture Training, Field Athletics and Conditioning Activities; Endurance events and Aquatics. Each participant will be given a comprehensive series of physical fitness test items before the start of the program and at the end of the program. Data w ill be carefullv recorded, scored, plotted and graphed in terms of individual profiles. These profile sheets will be made available to parents so they can see the effect of such a program. Individual interpretations in-terpretations will be made to the boys, girls and parents, it was explained. Classes will be held each Monday, Tuesday. Thursday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. |
