Show n i -Jl Summit By Donna Davenport Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hammond returned home from a vacation in Hawaii. They were there for the dedication of the Ilawaiin LDS Temple where Mr. Hammond's parents reside. Mrs. Hammond has been in Los Angeles, Calif, this week on business Mr. and Mrs. Alma Lawrence took their daughter, Sister Elaine Lawrence to Provo where she entered the Language Training Mission Thursday prior to her mission in Oslo, Norway. The Lawrences hosted an open house Tuesday evening honoring Sister Lawrence and a week ago on Sunday the Lawrence family presented the program in Sacrament meeting. Speakers were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence, Cleon, Devon, Rae Lyn, Keith, Steven, Terri and her husband Newell Peterson. Sister Elaine and Bishp Frank Dalley. Special musical numbers were furnished by Annette White at the piano and Chad Hulet at at the organ. A song, "I Am A Child of God, was sung by Kathy Hanks and accompanied ac-companied by Rich Dalton both of Parowan. Many friends and relatives from here and surrounding communities were in attendance at the meeting. Suzanne Griffin and a friend came from Logan and the Lawrence's son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Newell Peterson, also Keith Lawrence came from Provo. Several families have enjoyed reunions. Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Hulet and family hosted the B. L. Mathews family reunion at their home where a most enjoyable weekend was spent. Eighty-eight mem-tors mem-tors of Mrs. Hulets family attended including her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Mathews and LaRae coming from Roy. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Mathews and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Mathews and families were here from Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Mathews of Washington D.C. and their family came from various states. Mr. and Mrs. Dasil Mathews of Vacaville, Calif. Mr. Kay Mathews, Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mathews and family members from Blackfoot, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Stan-ford Mathews and family of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Lee A. Baker and family of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cowley of Venice joined all of the Carlisle Hulet family except Elder Donald Hulet who is in Guam. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Orton and two children came from Hunter and Mr. and Mrs. Dannie Hulet and baby Jake of Parowan and Chad David, Marianne and Alison all from here. Saturday the Oscar W. Hulet family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Adams in Cedar City. Going from here were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar J. Hulet, the Carlisle Hulets and Carl Evans families. A Walker reunion was held at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. Ordell Walker at Panguitch Lake where Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Farrow, the Marc Alltons and Gayland Farrows attended along with the Dennis Farrows of Salt Lake City. Mr. Taylor Walker of Orange Calif, and family members, Mrs. Laura Walker and family of Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whicker and family entertained en-tertained a large group at their home Friday evening where dinner and visiting were enjoyed. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Jay Davenport, Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Davenport and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Dannie Condie and two children from here. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Robinson, Tammy, Beverly, Penny and Shelly and Mr . and Mrs. Alan Robinson of Paragonah, Mrs. Kay Smith and granddaughters Jenifer and Hillery Smith, Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Walker are home after a weeks trip to Idaho Falls, Idaho where they visited the Douglas Farrow family. They also enjoyed a night at Manti where they attended the Mormon Miracle Pageant. Others attending the Pageant from here were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whicker and family and Mrs. Betty Lawrence. Mrs. Lyle Farrow is in Kernville, Calif, with her son-in-law and daughter Greg and Myra Mosdell. Mrs. Hyrum Humpherys traveled to Nampa, Idaho to be with her son-in-law anbd daughter Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Rawlinson and new baby daughter. |
