Defending champions cham-pions are the Cedar City Police Department. The tournament was moved to the Cedar City Little League parks to conclude the season competition. com-petition. In the first game Cedar Builders beat Gary's Texaco and Century 21 downed Cedar City Police Dept. In the second round of games it was Skaggs taking the measure of Lockhart and in the first big upset Antone's pulled a one point victory over Bradshaw Firestone. Thursday's action pitted the winners in two games. Both decided by one run. Skaggs held out against a determined Century 21 crew while the Cindrella club from Antone's pulled the biggest upset of the tournament at the expense of Cedar Builders. Curt Anderson was the hero with a great defensive effort. Friday's game featured giant killer Antone's (5-9 over the season) against Skaggs with a record of 11-3. It looked bad for Antone's as Skaggs scored 11 runs while holding Antone's scoreless. But in the 5th inning Antone's An-tone's came to life and scored six runs while shutting out Skaggs. Going into the sixth inning the score stood at 11-6 and Antone's looked good as they scored the first two hitters, but Skaggs found their defense and it spelled the end of the dreams of the Antone crew. Final standings in the tournament competition were as follows: Skaggs, first; Antone's second; Cedar Builders, third; Century 21, fourth; Bradshaw Firestone, fifth; Cedar City Police Dept., sixth; Lockhart, seventh and Gary's Texaco, eighth. The tournament concluded the T-Ball season and the Recreation Department expressed their thanks to all those who participated -especially the coaches who spent many hours to help the players. Next year the league is expected to expand to 10 or 12 teams.
