Show Paragonah By Melva Barton PARAGONAH - The Barton Reunion was a great success held here July 21 and 22, with around 350 descendents attending. Friday evening of the 21st was for visiting and Registration. Saturday morning the 22nd a meeting was held after which time was spent in each descen- Tuesday with programs and a Primary Fair. The DUP had a very successful Pioneer Day Monday July 24. A program and parade followed by sports and lots of good food. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thornton spent a week in Ogden with their son Gary and his family, and attended the funeral of Earl's aunt, Mrs. Merle Kelsey of American Fork. Mrs. Bertha Topham enjoyed a trip to Hawaii going with her son Dr. Lanell Topham and his wife and family of California. Mrs. Mary Robinson spent the past two weeks in Brigham City, with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Peck and two daughters. While there Mary celebrated her 80th birthday. Dianne Sue Peck is here visiting with her grandmother grand-mother Mary Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Limb of Buck Horn, Utah have a new baby. Penny Ward and Maurine Williamson made a trip to Salt Lake Sunday taking their children and grandchildren grand-children for a few days vacation. Ruth Boardman has her lot full of visitors. Among them are Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Roundy. and some of their friends and relatives. Some time was spent in Bear Valley. Ruth is a wonderful Hostess and it will be a great time for all. Mrs. Hannah Robinson and her daughter Ada spent last week in Salt Lake visiting relatives. Leslie Hulet came home from New York to be with his wife Ginger and four children. dent of Sally Penn and John Barton which was four sons, Stephen P., Samuel P, William and Joseph P. Barton families were organized. Luncheon at noon. Afternoon was spent in sports, dinner at 5 p.m. Program at seven oclock follwed by a dance which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Barton descendents were here from all of the surrounding states. This was held in the Paragonah Ward Cultural Hall. Mrs. Hazel Jean Robinson spent the past week in Logan with her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Val Simmons who have a new baby girl. . J. Lowe Barton made a business trip to Van Nuys, Calif last week. Mrs. Alma Edwards Stowe is here spending some time from Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olsen returned to Oxnard, Calif. After spending some time working on their old home they purchased. The first brick home built ouside of the Fort. Mr. Charles Temple and his three children have spent the past week from California visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Lefler. The grandchildren had a good time fishing. The Paragonah Ward Primary celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Primary Sunday and |
