Show Yorke Nelson, active Civic, Church and Recreational Worker dies Lunt with a tribute by Harold Shirley and remarks by Bishop Tyree Bulloch. The benediction was given by Conrad Hatch and Bishop Tyree Bulloch dedicated the grave. Graveside memDorial services were rnedered by the Benevoletn Protective Order of Elks 15.. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury & Graff Mortuary. I " V i J V ( J Yorke Nelson, 58, died July 13, 1978 at his home in Cedar City of a Heart Attack. At-tack. Born May 5, 1920 in Cedar City to George Timmons and Olivia Stevenson Nelson. Married Barbara Brown July 16, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marriage solemnized in the St. George Temple in Dec. of 1948. Yorke was a graduate of Cedar High School and the BAC. At present he was the Cedar City Recorder, worked for U. S. Steel 14 years and Utah Parks for 10 years. Active in sports for many years including soft-ball soft-ball pitcher for 27 years, Little League Coach and Manager many years. District Administrator of Little League Baseball for 15 years. Director of Cedar City recreation, member of SUSC Quarterback Club and received the Master M-Men Award. BPOE Lodge 1556. He is survived by his wife Barbara, 2 daughters Stephanie and Kuthryn all of Cedar City. Also surviving is his mother Olivia Nelson, 2 brothers and 2 sisters; Granville, Peter A., Mrs. J. Hue (Olive) Tyler and Mrs. Runa Wood all of Cedar City, Utah. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15, 1978 at 1 p.m. in the Cedar 15th LDS Ward Chapel with Al Tait conducting. The family prayer was offered by J. Rue Tyler with Shirley Cowan playing the prelude, post postlude music and Max Cowan giving the invocation. Musical selections consisted con-sisted of Christine Win-terrose Win-terrose singing "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine" and "The Lord's Prayer" acc. by Janet Knell and Pamela Orton rendering a piano solo "Clair De Lune". The speakers were Bishop Klien Rollo and Bishop Paul YORKE NELSON Elder in the LDS Church. Held many church positions including Finance Clerk, Sunday School Superin-tendency, Superin-tendency, President of Young Men's MIA. Youth Activity Director for Cedar Stake. Active member of |
