Show Voters Decide County Government Study Committee A question will be offered voters on the November general election ballots to decide whether they are in favor of establishing a study committee to examine alternate forms of county government. The decision, which came Wednesday Wed-nesday from the County Commission, was prompted by a reminder visit from Vivian Little and Daphne Dalley of the Cedar City League of Women Voters. The commission had indicated in-dicated earlier in the year they would consider the study committee idea as election time drew nearer. The study has been a reaccuring question with the commission, as several county residents have ap- proached the commission with the idea of converting to a five-man commission or other forms of ad-minstration. ad-minstration. The resolution as it will appear on the November ballot will specify that the study committee will be appointed rather than elected. Study, not advocate "This will establish the committee to study other forms," the commissioners com-missioners said. "It doesn't mean we will be switching. The voters will simply be okaying the committee." The vote was 2-1, with Cleo Wood dissenting. Wood said he disapproved of the idea when he first heard of it and still is not in favor. In other commission action, the commissioners approved a motion to establish only two justice precincts in Iron County, combining the Parowan and the Paragonah precincts. The other precinct will include Cedar City and the western Valley area. The commissioners also approved a division of voting District 14 in Cedar City. U-56 will be the major dividing line, they said, and the possibility exists a third district may have to be formed in the area within a year. i New planning member ) Additional business included: --David Grimshaw was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission in place of Ivan Robb, who resigned. -approved $750 to provide concrete repair to the old pavillion located at Wood's Ranch, so that it might be used along with the newer facility. -heard an informational report from BLM officials as to the preferred route for power lines from the proposed Intermountain Power Project, (IPP) as they affect Iron County.
