Show Swimming Pool to Open Cedar City's swimming complex is scheduled to open this week, it was announced by Wayne Mifflin, Recreation Director. Although all facilities are not complete it has been the decision of the swimming pool committee that the pool would be opened Friday, July 21 for an open plunge - free to all who would like to attend and swim. However, the public should be aware that the lockers for the dressing rooms are not yet installed. They have been delayed in shipping. Therefore it is advised that people possibly dress for swimming before coming to the pool. Benches have been installed and attendants will take care of valuable, however. Starting Saturday, admission rates will be charged. Adults, all 18 years of age and over will be charged 75 cents. Students and those 17 and under, and senior citizens, will be charged 50 cents. Season passes will alos be sold. Since the pool features both indoor and outdoor the passes will run from July 1 to June 30 each year. The cost of each pass will be reduced 10 percent per-cent each month. Since one month has already passed this year the family pass will be sold at $67.50, the single at $27.00 and the senior citizen pass at $13.50. Regular charges are $75, $30 and $15, respectively. Minimum charges will be $15 for family, $6.00 for students and $3 for senior citizens. As soon as lockers arrive and are installed, regular lessons and swimming programs will get underway, un-derway, Mifflin stated. |
