Show Paragonah By Hilina Lamoreaux Chester Robinson home on Sat. Miss Lamoreaux has just arrived home from a mission to France. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Thornton went to Salt Lake City on Tues. for an overnight business trip. Mr. and Mrs. Jack White of Beaver were Sat. visitors at the LaGrand Robb home. Little Miss Veronica Abbott and her young brother are here visiting grandparents. They accompanied their grandmother Mrs. Albin Judd here from Salt Lake City last week. Mrs. Mary C. (Dena) Williamson observed the 89th anniversary of her birthday on Feb. 10th and family members and friends made it a memorable day for her with visits, gifts and a beautifully decorated birthday cake. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson were happy to see their granddaughter grand-daughter Elaine and her husband Keith Rollins on Thurs. The young couple had just arrived home from Germany from Keith's tour of duty with the Army. On Sun. Chester and Irene and Mrs. Alice Robinson were to Parowan for family dinner with the Rollins', Mrs. Eleen Evans Brad, Wayne and Clay Robinson. Miss Shirley Fotheringham was to Provo from Thurs. to Sat. to visit with her friends, Bleak and Gladys Powell who were there from Calif. Shirley also attended Temple sessions and saw a BYU basketball game. Douglas Davenport went to Salt Lake City on Feb. 13 with his son, Herald and family. He visited with them until Thurs. when he entered the Veterans Hospital for tests and treatment. He is reported to be improving. The long holiday weekend brought a number of people home to visit with family members. Miss Laura Barton came from Provo where she is attending school at BYU. She was accompanied ac-companied by a friend, David Ellgen of Craig, Colorado. They visited with Joseph E. Bartons Travis Boardman of Cedar City visited here during the weekend with his grandmother Mrs. Ruth Boardman and in Parowan with the Charles Boardman family. Former Paragonah residents, Harold and Mildred Hayman, now of Las Vegas were in town on Thurs. to visit with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund traveled to Ogden on Thurs. to visit with the Victor Smith family and help them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They also went to Logan to visit with the Steven Halversen family. Mr. and Mrs. David Pack and two children of Salt Lake City came to spend the weekend with Claudia's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Jones. Mrs. Bertha Topham arrived home on Sat. after a trip north. She went to Beaver to attend the funeral of Mrs. Evelyn Yardley Smith and then accompanied her sister, Mrs. Marie Smith to Granger where a family reunion of the Stevens brothers and sisters was held. Mrs. Topham then visited in Kearns with the Ray Berrie family and on Sat. Michael, Sheral and Randy Berrie brought her home and were here for the weekend. Bishop Kenneth G. Topham traveled to Sandy on Fri. to see his new grandson and to bring his wife Pauline home again following her stay with their son Kenneth and his family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sch-medding Sch-medding arrived home on Sat. with their daughter Betty and her husband Louis Chase after spending exactly two months in Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Chase were returning to the coast on Mon. Mrs. Leona Stones returned home on Sat. after visiting in Cedar City for a time. Her leg is still giving her some trouble and she is not to be about much. Tom Jones of Las Vegas was here from Thurs. to Sat. to visit with his mother, Mrs. Iras Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Smith and son David came from Cedar City on Thurs. to visit at the Jones home. Warren came again on Sat. and accompanied his mother and Tom to Panguitch on business. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Williamson and two children of Salt Lake City were here for the weekend and visited overnight with their people, the Lester Williamsons. Miss Louise Davenport came from Salt Lake City on Thurs. to visit until Mon. with her mother, Mrs. Joan Davenport and sister Barbara.. Louise is in nurses training at University of Utah. Holly Robinson who is attending at-tending school at Utah State University in Logan and her sister Wendy who is employed in Salt Lake City arrived late Fri. to spend the weekend with the Boyd Robinsons. They were accompanied ac-companied by Holly's room mate Miss Laura Holms of Las Vegas. The girls mother came from Las Vegas to see her and was an overnight visitor at the Robinson home on Sat. Mrs. LaRae Mortensen and her two children and Mrs. Peggy Robinson and her young son were Sat. visitors here with the Clark Lamoreaux family. Mr. and Mrs. Burgess Robinson and four daughters of Salt Lake City arrived here on Fri. to spend the weekend with parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson. On Sat. Burt and Myrle Walker, Vic, Reva and Denise Matheson and Mrs. Ivy Skougaard and her three children all came from Cedar City to visit with them. ElmoC. Robinson arrived here from Orem on Sun. for an overnight visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Orion Lamoreaux and daughter, Susan of Las Vegas visited at the Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and family members of St. George were in town for Sacrament meeting on Sun. Their son, Elder Boyd Anderson who recently returned from a mission to the Phillipines was one of the speakers at the meeting. |
