Show D&O Sanitation requests City Garbage Rights subject to approval also by the planning and zoning committee. Mr. and Mrs. Garn Page were there to request that property they own in the Holyoak Lane be zoned commercial. The property is immediately east of the Ralph Hulet residence. The council informed them that the planning and zoning committee are now workong on proceeding with hearings to rezone the entire length of the lane from the city limits to the south interchange. HaroldS. Mitchell, president of the irrigation company was there. He stated that there is presently a judge ready to take final action on adjudication of Parowan waters. He requested that Parowan City and the reservoir company hold a joint meeting to work out some of the water rights before the judge signs the final decree. A meeting will be set up in the near future. Earl Bunn power board chairman was there and advised that after attending meetings in Salt Lake City he has found that electric rates to the city will continue to go up. A discussion was also held on the city running power outside the city limits and it was decided that no new service ser-vice will be run unless property is annexed. Users will have to connect with Cal-Pac. PAROWAN - D and O Sanitation Company representatives Caudell Orton and Sherwin Dalton attended the council meeting to again request that they be allowed to take over the city garbage service. They advised that they would pick up garbage twice each week for $3.00 per month per family. They would purchase the city equipment for this purpose. The council asked them to draw up a formal proposal to present at the next meeting for consideration. Mr. and Mrs. George Loosely and Marna Heap attended the meeting. They are attempting to straighten out property lines on the city street where they live. Bud Rhodes, city engineer and representative of Bulloch Brothers engineering firm was present also and advised that the city attorney should again research any legalities involved in re-surveying or re-designating the lines. Clarence Benson Jr. presently managing the Parowan Texaco station was there and requested a beer license. This request was denied by a 3 to 2 vote with the reason given, the close proximity of the station to the high school. The council will now have a new policy toward holders of beer and liquor licenses. All licenses will have to be renewed each year. Re-application will have to be made and an evaluation made before renewal. The council will reserve the right to reject or renew. Kent Pendleton and Gilbert Mitchell attended, they presently own property where the old Mitchell Sawmill was on East 2nd South Street, and presently the Department of Transportation. Tran-sportation. Future projections call for quite a large turn there which would take out part of their property at intersection in-tersection U-143 and 2nd south. They requested that the city trade them some city property adjacent to their property. The city engineer stated that it has been surveyed and he will meet with them and advise what property they would want to have it appraised. Jay Moore was in and requested a water line for his subdivision. He was referred to the planning and zoning committee com-mittee to have his subdivision plans approved before any other action can be taken. Jim Pinkham Lions Club president was in. He asked for the city's approval to sponsor an application for grant funds to the Utah outdoor recreation council in order to complete the swimming swim-ming pool park and pavillion. Also the Lions are considering the possibility of a cover over the pool area. Mrs. John Lovric, owner of Pit Stop Drive-in attended the meeting and presented plans to the council for a proposed overnight campground to be put in south of the Pit Stop.
