Show AirWest to preserve 'status quo' A decision by an auxiliary Board of the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has "boosted the spirits" of local officials as Hugh's Airwest has been ordered to "preserve the status quo" as far as air t service to Cedar City is concerned. Cedar City and Page, Ariz., made pleas to the CAB to consider the case before granting Airwest a permanent cessation. The resulting order "granted the civic parties (Page and Cedar City) to stay the CAB order and ordered Airwest to "preserve the status quo." Airwest requested an extension until March 7 to prepare answers to counter the reasoning brought forward by Cedar City and Page attorneys. After hearing arguments, the CAB will announce its decision whether or not to have public hearings on the matter. t "1 don't know if it is just postponing the inevitable," Cedar City Attorney Ralph Benson said, "But at least we feel like we are still in the ballpark." |
